A Child Grew and became strong

A Child grew and became strong in spirit and filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was upon him. Now when he was 12 yrs old his parents went up to Jerusalem according to the custom for the feast of the passover. After the passover was ended, and they were returning, the child Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem. Joseph and Mary did not know this and supposing him to have been in their group went a days journey before seeking him among their kinsmen and acquaintances. When they did not find him they turned back again to Jerusalem, seeking him. After 3 days they found him in the temple, sitting among the teachers, both listening to them and asking them questions. All who heard him were astonished at his understandings and answers. When his parents saw him they were amazed. His mother said to him, Son! Why have you behaved like this to us? Your father and I have been looking for you and worrying ! And he said to them, Why did you look for me? Did you not know that I must be about my Fathers business? But they did not understand what he was saying to them. Then he went with them to Nazareth, and was obedient to them, but his mother kept all these things in her heart. Jesus, as he grew up, increased both in wisdom and in favor,with God and man.
