The Flight into Egypt

When the wise men departed, the angel of the Lord appeared and spoke to Joseph in a dream, saying: Arise! and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and stay there until i bring you word. For Herod will seek the child to destroy him. So he arose and took the young child and his mother into Egypt . There they remained until the death of Herod, that the word of the prophet of the Lord might be fulfilled: Out of Egypt have I called my son. When Herod saw that the wise men had deceived him, he was greatly angered. He ordered that all the children under two years old in Bethlehem and the land around should be put to death, in accordance with the time he had learned from the wise men Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet: In Rama was there a voice heard, lamenting, and weeping, and mourning , Rachel weeping for her children and would not be comforted, because they were no more. But when Herod died, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt, saying, Rise up! Take the young child and his mother and go into the land of Israel! For those who sought the child's life are dead! So he arose and took the young child into the land of Israel. But, when he heard that Archelaus reigned in Judea in place of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there.So being warned by God in a dream, he turned aside again into the region of Galilee. He went and settled in the city of Nazareth, so that the words which were spoken by the prophets might be fulfilled. He shall be called Nazarene.
